Activation Guide

More Cost Effective Usage

  • Extends 22 Times Original Amount
  • Very cost effective
  • Good for large applications
  • Apply same as non-activated
  • Activates quicker in warm temperatures
  • Use within two - three weeks of activation
Activate To Extend the Product

One bottle can be used to create up to 22 bottles by "activating" it. Activating means taking the Probiotic product and mixing it with water and a nutrient source to rapidly increase the population of the beneficial bacteria. Once activated, it can be applied in place of the original product, although it can not be further extend to create a third generation with the same effectiveness.

Recipe for 1 Gallon of Activated Nature's Team All-Purpose Probiotic

  1. 3/4 cup blackstrap molasses (no prservatives)
  2. 3/4 cup Nature's Team All-Purpose Probiotic
  3. almost 1 gallon clean water (not chlorinated)

INSTRUCTIONS:

  • Pour the molasses into the empty water container. Molasses is thick and sticky so it is easier to pour it into the container from the measuring cup and then add water to the container using the measuring cup until the molasses is dissolved (saves cleanup time and prevents wasting molasses).
  • Add more water to the container until it is about the container 1/2 full.
  • Shake the container with the water and molasses until the molasses is dissolved and blended smoothly. Make sure there is no molasses settled at the bottom.
  • Add the Nature's Team All-Purpose Probiotic
  • Add water to the container until it is filled, leaving as little room as possible before screwing the cap on. Mix the Nature's Team All-Purpose Probiotic, molasses, and water gently in the container by turning the it upside down and then right-side up a few times. Do not shake vigorously or more than necessary as the microbes are delicate and do not like to be shaken.
  • Make sure the cap is screwed on tightly.
  • Store in a dark place and release any "out-gas" build up every 3 - 5 days. You can tell when the gas needs to be released as the container will expand and make it appear as if there is less liquid than before.

During the activation process, there will be a slight "off gas" which will need to be released. It is similar to the "burp" requirements when making wine or other fermented drinks. Using a wine or beer cap which allows the gas to be released automatically can be helpful but just unscrewing the cap and then tightening it back up every few days works well, too.

Increasing the activation temperature speeds up the process which can take from around 14 days days down to 4. Commercial users can optimize the activation by controlling the temperature. Call us to locate a consultant who can optimize the brewing instructions at an on-site location and provide the maximum cost savings methods for applying he product.

Once activated, it should be used within 7 - 14 since the microbes have populated and are ready to do their job. If not used during this "activated" period, the microbe population will die off and not not be effective. Discard any unused activated product after 30 days by pouring into the compost pile, on a bed of soil, or down a drain.

Temperature Days to Activate
85 - 95 F around 4 - 5 days
75 - 85 F around 6 - 9 days
65 - 70 F around 10 - 14 days
